In PD, when a student has reached a level of keluarga, s/he will learn how to use weapons. PD divides weapon into 2 categories. Mandatory weapons and optional weapons. There are 3 mandatory weapons in PD, i.e. knife as a short weapon, sword as a medium weapon and staff as a long weapon.

Beside those 3 weapons, PD accommodate the rest as optional weapons. Every student can learn anything as their weapon, such as spear, long-handled-broad-sword, fan, chain, umbrella or sickle.

At the first lesson, knife will be used as a weapon to be learned. The reason of learning knife as is to educate the useful of any similar short object as a weapon, such as pencils or pens. By learning knife, a student should know the advantages and disadvantages of short weapons.

The second weapon that will be taught is a sword. For a male student, they will learn how to use a broad sword, which is a sword with one side sharp blade. For female students, they will learn how to use a sword with two side sharp blades.

By the length, sword is a middle range weapon. Thus, it gives a longer reach to the opponent during an attack. By learning this middle range weapon, students will understand in how they have to maintain the distance to the opponent. They will find out the advantages as well as disadvantages of middle range weapon.

The last weapon to be learned is a staff. The length of a staff is about 20 cm longer than the body height. Staff is a weapon which can only be used in at least one and a half meter distance. By learning staff, student will understand the advantages and disadvantages, so they will be able to use it as well as to face someone who is using it.

While learning mandatory weapons, student can also learn how to use other weapons such as sickle, chain and fan. Those other weapons are grouped as additional weapons. Instructor will guide them how to use those weapons.

In the end, the only objective of learning weapons is to educate students in understanding their use. They will be able to analyze any object as a weapon. They will know the advantages and disadvantages of any object as a weapon. They will also know how to handle a situation when they have to face opponent with those weapons.
